In Q4 2025 alone, African Bitcoiners added 8 new initiatives to this growing ecosystem, proving that the continent’s Bitcoin movement shows no signs of slowing down.

The continent’s Bitcoin story is one of explosive growth: from 15 countries in Q1 2024 to 22 countries in Q4 2025—a 77% expansion in just one year. From SMS-based wallets serving communities without internet access to renewable energy-powered mining operations illuminating rural villages, African Bitcoin projects are solving real-world problems with innovative solutions.

Nigeria stands as Africa’s digital currency powerhouse, with the largest number of digital asset users on the continent and a thriving ecosystem of innovative projects. With $92.1 billion in digital asset transactions between July 2024 and June 2025, Nigeria leads the continent.
